Whether it’s the chain inner bearings, chain drive bushings or plugs, thanks to its high-penetration and cleaning action 105 High Tech CHAIN-FLUID easily and reliably enters into the narrowest spaces.

 

Removing anything which does not belong on the chain...

In the process dirt and accumulated resin are cleaned while particles are freed and flushed away from the frictional surfaces.

Lubricates and lubricates and lubricates...

Once the solvent has evaporated the OMC2 technology leaves a permanent lubricating and protective film on the clean chain. This film ensures that the chain remains fully lubricated.

 

It also protects the weakest link in the chain...

The good surface adhesive properties of the ultra-thin and robust protective film resist high mechanical stresses. The 105 product also partially smooths the surfaces during mixed friction without itself sticking. This provides protection against dust and dirt.

Step-by-Step instructions...

With capillary tube

1. Rotate pedals backwards.
2. At the sprocket you generously spray the rotating chain from a distance of approx. 2 cm in order ro remove dirt and accumulated resin from the chain and dirt and dust from the inner bearings.
3. The same application is suitable for all cables and moving parts, as well as the bearings. The fluid penetrates in depth and immediately removes accumulated resin, dirt and obstructions.

Application with the capillary tube is ideal for all cables and moving parts, as well as the bearings. On the steering, brake and gear cables as well as the bottom bracket and bearings accumulated resin, dirt and heaviness are loosened and removed immediatey.

Application notes:

1. rota of application: 200 - 500 km
    accoding to ridden terrain and weather conditions

2. apply after riding
    note the exposure time of 4 to 6 hours

3. Usage of drip protecttion:
    use cardboard or similar to avoid residues

4.  Avoid contact with all kinds of breaks

 

 

 

With brush tip

1. Remove capillary tube and attach brush. With a little pressure you aim the brush in the direction of travel of the freewheeling chain and spray. Dirt and even the tiniest particles are now removed and flushed out of the chain. Spray in roughly 2 – 3 pedal turns until chain fluid drips from the chain at the front on the bottom bracket sprocket.

2. Now wait for approx. 15 to 20 minutes for the 105 HIGH TECH CHAIN FLUID to drip off and dissolve all resin formations.

3. Now clean the lower section of the chain between the sprocket rim and the large sprocket with the brush while occasionally spraying in order to flush away the dirt and the loosened resin residues.

4. After a few hours the solvent has evaporated completely. Thanks to the remaining high-tech additive the chain is now effectively lubricated without sticking.


The use of the brush makes the penetration and capillary effect even better. This guarantees significantly greater level of dirt removal.

Tip:

Residual lubricant and grease on the wheels can be removed fully, quickly and even without water.

In discussions with cycling fans of all kinds we are always asked the same questions about our 105 product. We can sum up the main questions as follows:

What differentiates "HIGH TECH KETTEN-FLUID 105" from conventional chain lubricants?

"HTKF 105" consists of a combination of a solvent (active cleansing and in-depth penetration) and our HIGH TECH additive, which is homogeneously mixed with the solvent.In its original condition the sovent would be too thick to penedrate into critical areas of the chain bearings in order to provide them with lubricant. In addition to its task as the base material it also implements cleaning operations in combination with the solvent. It flushed old, caked substances, dust and dirt and resin residues from and out of the chain. After the residual lubricant has been completely removed a chemical adhesive process takes place, protecting agains corrosion even during long rides in the rain. This preventsageing and resin accumulation on the chain. Ingredients preventing seizure and wear and tear protect micro-welded sections and excessive war and tear while reducing abrasion under high stresses, for example riding in mountain terrain.

What problems arise in lubricating chains?

In order to meet the varying and difficult conditions of cycle racing and mountain biking it is essential to maintain and lubricate the chain as carefully as possible in order to achieve positive features such as easy gear changes and pedalling. On the one hand a clean chain is the most important precondition for ensuring that the lubricant adheres to the surface of the chain for all-round protection. At the same time, because there are tiny gaps between the moving parts, an extremely penetrative lubricant is required so that it reaches all the joints, bearings, sprockets and bushings of the chain in order to lubricate and protect them.

What influences chain lubrication?

External influences such as dirt and a dusty environment cause dust particles to stick and cake. The abrasive effect caused by this means a high level of wear and tear. Wet or damp conditions can also lead to the corrosion of the inner bearings and bushes of the chain, which is subjected to greater friction. Lubrication can be negatively affected by resin residues from chain oils and corrosion particles generated during increased friction. Classical lubrication with oil and grease is unable to cope with the above conditions. Their use means that the driver has to work harder, together with high wear and tear and reduced product life for chain and sprockets, while in the long term functions can be impaired. The right product which meets all requirements combined with correct care and application are the essential factors for ensuring long chain life.

What are the criteria for optimum lubrication?

In order to achieve optimum chain lubrication the lubricant has to be able to free the chain from dirt, residues and accumulated resin and remove particles from friction surfaces. In addition the lubricant has to penetrate the tiniest spaces such as the inner bearings, drive bushings and plugs in order to ensure not just surface lubrication but full internal and external lubrication of the chain. This provides good surface adhesion without offering a sticky film which will bind dust and dirt. A permanent film of lubricant helps the chain to resist high mechanical stresses.
